Overview
Adres is the address block inside Podmiot1, the seller of a FA(3) invoice. It carries the country code and the street address, and it is required in every FA(3) invoice. A separate optional block, DaneKontaktowe, carries the seller's email and phone.
The address fields
Adres contains four elements. KodKraju is the country code (for example PL) and is required. AdresL1 is the main address line, required, up to 512 characters. AdresL2 is an optional second address line. GLN is an optional Global Location Number of up to 13 digits, used mainly when the seller also participates in supply-chain identification systems.
The FA(3) address has no separate city or postal-code fields. Put the full street, postal code and city into AdresL1, for example "ul. Testowa 1, 00-001 Warszawa".
Use AdresL2 for details that do not fit on the first line, such as a suite number, a floor or a department name. GLN is only useful if you already issue Global Location Numbers as part of a GS1-based supply chain; most small businesses leave it out. If the seller has a different mailing address, put it in a separate AdresKoresp block, not in this Adres.
Contact details
DaneKontaktowe is optional and can repeat up to three times. Each entry holds an optional Email (which must contain an @ sign) and an optional Telefon (up to 16 characters). Keep these current: they are the contact details printed alongside the seller.
Where it matters
The seller address is part of how the buyer and the tax office identify you, and it appears in the PDF and on the official verification page. A complete, non-abbreviated address avoids follow-up questions during reconciliation and archiving.
Common mistakes to avoid
Two address mistakes cause the most support questions. First, putting the company name into AdresL1 instead of into Nazwa inside DaneIdentyfikacyjne — the name belongs to identification, not to the address. Second, truncating a long street name to save space; keep the full legal address, because the PDF and the verification page print exactly what the XML contains. Also check that KodKraju is a two-letter ISO 3166 country code.
A complete, valid FA(3) example appears below with Podmiot1's Adres filled in.
