Overview
P_6 is the date of supply or service completion in a FA(3) invoice (in Polish, "data dokonania dostawy lub wykonania usługi"). It is optional: you fill it only when the goods were delivered or the service was performed on a day other than the invoice issue date in P_1. Notaly's API does not currently accept a supply date as input and does not emit P_6; invoices today carry only the issue date in P_1.
When P_6 is needed
P_6 records the day the delivery or service actually happened, which is not always the same day the invoice was issued. When both happen on the same day, you leave P_6 out and P_1 covers the event. When they differ — for example a subscription charged on 1 October but invoiced on 12 October — P_6 lets the buyer and the tax office see the actual performance date. In the FA(3) XML, P_6 lives in the Fa section, after the invoice number and before the VAT breakdown.
Format
The value is a plain calendar date in ISO 8601 format, YYYY-MM-DD. Do not add a time component and do not use a localised format such as 12.10.2026. A service completed on 10 October 2026 is written as 2026-10-10. There is no timezone in P_6 because it is a date, not a timestamp.
Common mistakes
- Copying the issue date into P_6 automatically when the dates really differ.
- Treating P_6 as a timestamp (for example 2026-10-10T14:00:00Z), which fails XSD validation.
- Confusing P_6 with the header timestamp DataWytworzeniaFa, which records the moment the XML document was generated, not the supply date.
What Notaly does today
Notaly's API does not currently accept a supply date as input and does not emit P_6. When you send an invoice through Notaly, the document carries the issue date in P_1 and no supply date, which is correct for the common case where supply and issue happen on the same day. If your business regularly invoices before or after the actual delivery, keep this limitation in mind and check this page for updates.
A complete, valid FA(3) example appears below. It omits P_6 because the supply and issue dates are the same, which is the most common case.
